It's about time! Ramblings about the 2008 Presidential Election

According to MSNBC.com, "Three political speeches drew more viewers than ‘Idol’ finale, Oscars." Is America finally getting a clue??

Also, apparently more watched the RNC than the DNC but that was due to Sarah Palin. Hey, we had to see what she is all about, right? You know you were curious. Admit it! :)

I've discovered my issue with this election is that it's not the politicians I can't stand, it's the political parties. If I vote Obama, I would hate to have to hear from the smug-know-it-all-make-love-not-war Democrats. If I vote McCain, then the holier-than-thou-do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do-old-white-men Republicans would never shut up. Yes, I am one of those annoying "Independents" that both parties loathe.

Looking back over the past 4 presidential elections that I have been a part of (man, am I that old??) I see a trend in my voting. There has always been one candidate that I despise so my choice has been easy. I haven't been biased. I voted Democrat twice and Republican twice. This time, well, neither of them really piss me off. I thought that my decision would be made with the choice in VP's. Well, my mind kinda is made up but I know me and I'm sure that in the next 60 or so days it will flip-flop (like that reference to the last election?).

Oh, and for those of you whose minds are made up: Congrats. Here's to a hard fought election. However, get your damn opinion out of my face and let me make up my own mind.
